The ARDF, in association with the CAMPCO Ltd, Mangalore and Vivekananda College of Engineering and Technology, Puttur had already conducted two Yantra Melas, one during 2009 and another during 2012 at Puttur, Daksina Kannada Dt, Karnataka and both were very successful. Since then, several new inventions have been made by different innovators and available in the market world wide.
Now a days, the Areca farmers are in urgent need of simple and cost effective machineries for their day to day farm and post harvest operations. In order to introduce and exhibit new and effective machineries and innovations to areca farmers in one common platform, another Krishi Yanthra Mela is being organized in a big wayat Puttur for three daysfrom 24 to 26 January 2015. This mela is designed to give maximum interaction between Scientists, Farmers, Innovators, and Manufacturers by way of discussions, exhibitions and demonstrations. Nearly two lakh farmers and other dignitaries from different states are expected to visit this fair.
This mela is a good opportunity for different Companies, Innovators, Manufacturers of Agriculture related Machineries from all over India and abroad to exhibit their products and impress upon our farmers to purchase and utilize them in farm and post harvest operations. Not less than 250 Companies are expected to come and exhibit their products. They may also take part in the live demonstrations being organized in this mela. We have the plan to provide closed stalls (mostly 10X10 feet size) as well as open spaces (mainly for bigger machineries and for live demonstrations) for this purpose.
